The construction of this board was undertaken for Retech AG, in Meisterschwanden,
Switzerland. Retech is a supplies of controllers for the textile industry
(retech@netlink.ch).
Although some of the interfaces on this board were available as modules
from existing designs, the board represents a significant improvement in
performance due to its integrated and flexible nature, made possible by
the use of powerful programmable logic devices from Altera.

20MHz sytem clock MC68376 processorwith CAN controller in 16 bit mode with up to 1M RAM and 4 M FLASH (containing 64kbyte boot program)
3 Altera Flex devices with 240 pins - 3.3V
CAN bus, RS-485 and LAN 10Mb/s communication interfaces
High density 100 pin connector with 24 buffered digital inputs and 49 optically isolated current loop inputs
18V..36V supply (approx. 180mA at 24V) - 5V and 3.3V converters on board
Reset with watchdog
8 bit card address selector
Background debug connector for microprocessor emulation mode
FLASH programming over RS-485 (boot program in protected FLASH sector)
Byte-Blaster connector for development of Altera Flex devices
Bus expansion connectors available, which can be used for connecting external memory with test and programm code
10 LEDs for indicating power, communication and application states
